Combined Wedding and Baptism at La Spagnuola, Liguria
The very first challenge for Francesca & Matthias was to find the perfect place for their dream. Their wishes were clear, almost like an incantation: it had to be in the Province of Savona, it had to hold a consecrated church within its walls, it had to be beautiful, and like the final spell it had to face the sea.
At first, the quest seemed daunting. But with the guidance of a Destination Wedding Planner who knew the territory by heart, the hidden treasure was revealed: La Spagnuola, a villa as enchanting as their wish itself. Mission accomplished.
The second challenge was even more delicate: obtaining permission to celebrate, in one sacred moment, both the marriage of Francesca & Matthias and the baptism of little E. It was not an easy path. It required time, patience, and above all, the trusted relationships built through years of experience. Step by step, what once seemed impossible opened its gates, and the dream became reality.
Then, when the skies refused to smile and rain threatened to overshadow the day, foresight and preparation turned the tide. Plan B was already in place. The timeless beauty of the villa’s interiors, together with the grace and extraordinary professionalism of the Marchesa Silvana, transformed what could have been an obstacle into yet another miracle.
And so, despite the clouds, the wedding unfolded like a true fairy tale proof that dreams need more than desire. They need expertise, intuition, and a deep knowledge of the land. With these quiet but essential ingredients, challenges became opportunities, and the story of F&M and little E found its perfect stage at La Spagnuola.
Words from Francesca & Matthias
From the very beginning, we knew exactly where our dream had to take shape: Savona.
It’s the place of my origins — where my roots are — and it holds a special place in my heart. For my husband, the sea has always been a source of energy and freedom. As a passionate kitesurfer, he’s happiest when he’s close to the water. So, our dream was clear: our wedding had to be in Savona, it had to face the sea, and it had to be beautiful in every sense of the word.
It also had to hold a consecrated church, as we wanted our union to be blessed in a sacred and meaningful way. But finding a venue that combined all these elements? That felt almost impossible. Until we met our Wedding Planner.
From the very beginning, she brought such passion, energy, and precision to every step. She listened to us deeply, understood our vision right away, and with her experience and deep knowledge of the area, she made what felt impossible… possible. That’s how we found La Spagnuola — a hidden gem of a villa perched above the sea, rich in charm and history, and with its own consecrated church inside the property. It was everything we had dreamed of — and more.
But there was another dream we held close to our hearts: we wanted to celebrate not only our wedding, but also the baptism of our little one, E, in the same sacred moment. It was a delicate request, and we knew it would take time and sensitivity to make it happen. But our Wedding Planner never once hesitated. With her patience, determination, and trusted relationships, she opened the right doors. She made it work. And then — just as everything was perfectly in place — the weather changed. Rain clouds gathered. What we had envisioned as an outdoor celebration seemed threatened. But once again, she was already one step ahead. With calm confidence and that same contagious enthusiasm, she brought Plan B to life — transforming the villa’s elegant interiors into the most beautiful and intimate setting. Together with the grace and hospitality of the Marchesa Silvana, what could have been a challenge became yet another magical moment.
Throughout the entire journey — from the earliest planning to the final toast and through the big day itself — she was a rock and a powerhouse of positivity, precision, and creativity: tirelessly organized, full of ideas and heart, solving problems before they reached us, coordinating every detail with grace, speed, and a smile, and ultimately giving us the priceless freedom to truly enjoy every moment of our wedding. When we look back, our wedding feels like a true fairytale. But it didn’t happen by magic. It happened because someone behind the scenes believed in our dream, worked passionately for it, and gave it everything she had — just like we did.
To her, we will always be grateful. Francesca & Matthias
